Paoli Acme ‘reopens’ with new offerings
In competitive grocery store environment, Acme improves store with Starbucks, beer and wine sales, and more
TREDYFFRIN >> The Paoli Acme held a “grand reopening” Friday for a store it never closed.
The celebration instead marked the end of renovations that went on while the grocery store remained open. Shoppers now have access to beer and wine, Starbucks coffee as well a number of other amenities.
“Our store celebrates our customers and we are thrilled to offer them such a fantastic new shopping experience,” said Dan Croce, president of Acme. “From our product selection to the design and layout of the store, our goal was to tailor this store for our neighbors in Paoli.”
Upgrades to the Paoli store include: • A new in-store Starbucks; • A large beer and wine set combined with cold and warm space that features local craft beer options;
• A remodeled pharmacy equipped with a private consultation room;
• A full-service Butcher Block featuring fresh cut meats prepared daily by on-site butchers and a full-service seafood de-

partment;
• A bakery that features hot Italian bread, storebaked cookies and cakes for special occasions;
• A floral department with a refrigerated feature case for floral arrangements and roses, along with a secondary display for featured flowers;
• A variety of natural, organic and gluten-free products throughout the store;
• A selection of home meal solutions including expanded fresh cheese offerings;
• A produce department that features a variety of organics and fresh cut offerings.
Acme would not disclose how much it spent on remodeling
the 61,807-squarefoot store at 39 Leopard Road, said Dana Ward, senior communications coordinator at Acme. The grocery chain does not disclose how much is spent on such projects, she said.
Acme started renovating the store in the fall by incorporating The Frosted Mug, its beer and wine department, and a new in-store Starbucks. In addition, a private consultation room was added in the pharmacy area to provide an area for customer consultations and immunizations.
“Acme is excited to offer shoppers of our Paoli store a true one-stop shop,” Ward said.
During grand re-opening ceremonies Friday, Acme presented donations to the following local organizations:
• $1,000 to Tredyffrin Township Police Department/Tredyffrin and Easttown Care;
• $1,000 to Paoli Fire Company;
• $1,000 to TredyffrinEasttown School District;
• $1,000 to Great Valley School District;
• A bench made of recycled materials to Tredyffrin Township Parks and Recreation.
Acme, based in the Great Valley Corporate Center in East Whiteland, operates 178 stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Delaware, and Maryland, employing nearly 20,000 associates.
