Domestic Violence Center a winner at chamber event

-

The Domestic Violence Center of Chester County took First Prize in the Exton Region Chamber of Commerce’s Second Annual Mixers with Shakers Event.

Mixers with Shakers is an event designed to bring recognition to the non-profit members of the chamber. Each non-profit had the opportunity to set up a themed table and serve a signature drink. Event attendees could then sample each drink and vote for their favorite.

The Domestic Violence Center of Chester County, or DVCC, took top prize for their Alice in Wonderland Themed table and “The Looking Glass” drink. Terry Moody, executive director of DVCC said, “This is our first year as a member of the chamber, so we were excited to be able to participate in such a fun event and introduce the guests to our agency and our mission.”

DVCC chose their Mixers with Shakers theme to go along with their Annual Gala Event, “Through the Looking Glass” to be held April 8.

There were over 120 attendees at Mixers with Shakers, and 10 nonprofit participants. Concordia Choral Arts took second place, and Chester County’s Children took third.

The Chamber plans to hold the event again next year.
