FROM THE 60S TO SNOW!
Forecast: Seasonable weather returns today with snow, colder temperatures
Before we even get a chance to “Spring Forward,” we’re going to have to deal with another shot of winter today and right through the weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the entire region. Yesterday’s high temperatures that pushed brushed aside by a cold front that roared in last night, sending temperatures tumbling and bringing another shot of snow to the region.
The morning rush hour may be complicated by the snow, which was supposed about 4 a.m. and continue through the morning.
According to Accuweather. com, over much of the next 10 days or so, cold weather will be more persistent than it has been during the past 10 weeks, relative to average. The pattern will pave the way for opportunities for snow.
“The first storm will spread snow from part of the lower Great Lakes region to the central Appalachians, the upper part of the mid-Atlantic and southern New England, prior to the end of the week,” according to AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams.
Then again, it could be rain and the roads could be too warm to actually cause more than the headache of clearing the car before going to work.
“Morning rush hour could be slippery from parts of Ohio, Pennsylvania, southern New York state and northern New Jersey to southern New England,” Abrams said. Wait, there’s more. “Following the late-week snowfall, there can be additional threats this weekend and next week for portions of the Midwest, Northeast and South,” Abrams said.
A storm bears watching from early this weekend over part of the Midwest to late this weekend in the Eastern states, south of the Mason-Dixon Line.
So, as we continue to count down the days to real Spring, maybe Winter is not done with us yet. Maybe. And don’t forget, regardless of what the thermometer says, we “spring forward” one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday. Don’t forget to move your clocks ahead and check the batteries in your smoke detector.
