DiVincenzo doesn’t let failed dunks in opener get him down

little bit, but we made it safe and sound,” Jackson said. “They wouldn’t let us land in Buffalo on the first pass. We had to go back to Philly and wait it out, and then finally made it to Niagara. It wasn’t too bad. We got in about 6:30 last night and then we took a car here.”

Patty Wright said the plane was diverted to the Niagara Airport because of the weather and was four minutes from that facility when it was sent back to Philly.

“It was something,” Patty Wright said.

Dunleavy did not travel with the team Sunday because his wife, Chrissi, gave birth to their second daughter, Caroline Claire, who will be known as Cece.

“It was an interestin­g trip,” Dunleavy said before Thursday’s game against Mount St. Mary’s, “but everything worked out before and after.”

And how are his wife and daughter doing?

“Everybody is fine,” Dunleavy said.

*** Jay Wright took a few minutes to visit with Bucknell coach Nathan Davis, his staff and players after the Bison lost to West Virginia, 86-80, in the second game of Thursday’s afternoon doublehead­er at KeyBank Arena. Wright is a 1983 graduate of Bucknell.

“I told them we were all proud of them,” Jay Wright said. “I have a bunch of Bucknell guys I played basketball with and we have a text thread that we stay on to follow the games. … I thought they had a great season.”
