Police looking for assault suspect
Aaron Humphrey allegedly fired a gun, assaulted two people
COATESVILLE >> Police are searching for a man who pulled out his gun during a dispute that became physical on Sunday night, police said on Monday.
Coatesville police said that two people engaged in a confrontation with the suspect, who then reportedly pulled a firearm from his waistline and allegedly pointed it at one of the victims. When the confrontation continued, family members of the one victim then attempted to help defuse the situation, according to the police report.
Police identified the suspect as Aaron Humphrey, 33, of Coatesville. Police said that Humphrey then allegedly hit one of the victims in the side of his head with the gun. At that time, the gun discharged and the bullet hit an occupied car that was parked in a nearby lot. No occupant of the car was injured.
After that, Humphrey got into his green sedan,
believed to be a Buick, and then reportedly hit the other victim with the front of his car when he left the scene, according to police.
Police were dispatched at 8:49 p.m. Sunday to the 700 block of East Lincoln Highway at Pennsylvania Avenue.
Police said that through their investigation and assistance from the community, they identified Humphrey as the suspect wanted for aggravated assault and related charges.
