Two locals named ’17 Ballpark Bankers

- Staff Report

Citizens Bank has announced that 44 team members have been selected for the 2017 Citizens Bank Ballpark Banker program. Ballpark Bankers are Citizens Bank colleagues who work as brand ambassadors during all Philadelphia Phillies home games at Citizens Bank Park.

The two Ballpark Bankers from Chester County are Christie Wowman of Downingtown and Asia Tribble of Coatesville.

Launched in 2004 to coincide with the opening of Citizens Bank Park, Ballpark Bankers is a oneof-a-kind ambassador program in professional sports. A select team of Citizens Bank colleagues helps provide an exceptional experience for the 45,000 fans who visit Citizens Bank Park during each home game. Ballpark Bankers help fans find their seats, provide directions and offer courtesy golf cart rides to fans before the game from the parking lot to the gates, among other duties.

“Our Ballpark Bankers have consistently stepped up to the plate, providing thousands of fans with a unique and memorable experience at Citizens Bank Park,” said Daniel K. Fitzpatrick, president of Citizens Bank for Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. “This program exemplifies Citizens Bank’s credo, through its tradition of service and good citizenship.”

In addition to performing random acts of kindness throughout Citizens Bank Park, the Ballpark Bankers can also be found at their kiosk in Ashburn Alley. From the kiosk, the bankers provide information and distribute prizes to fans participating in the Citizens Bank Games of Baseball, two interactive games that are free and available to fans of all ages. The 2017 Citizens Bank Ballpark Banker program includes Christie Wowman of Downingtown and Asia Tribble of Coatesville.

Ballpark Bankers also distribute prize packs, including T-shirts, backpacks and other branded items, to seven lucky fans during the seventh inning of each home game.

Selection to the Ballpark Banker team is competitive and involves an application, interview and manager approval. Each Ballpark Banker works approximately once a month at home games throughout

the season as part of his or her regular work schedule. When not working at Citizens Bank Park, they can be found working in local branches and Citizens Bank offices throughout eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

In addition to these roles, Ballpark Bankers volunteer in community outreach efforts, such as the bank’s involvement with the Phillies Jr. RBI League. The league reaches more than 7,000 inner-city children by teaching them baseball and the basics of teamwork and sportsmanship.
