Mary Louise (Bircher Aikins) Johnson, age 80, of Mountville, formerly of Seven Valleys and Newtown Square PA, passed away on March 21, 2017 at York Hospital with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of Leonard E. Johnson Sr., with whom she enjoyed over 15 years of marriage. She was also married to the late W. Curtis Aikins for over 40 years.

Mary was born in Philadelph­ia on January 26, 1937 and was the daughter of the late George A. and Alice L. (Ogram) Bircher. She graduated from Tredyffrin/ Easttown High School class of 1954. She worked for the Spring Grove School District in the 1960’s and subsequent­ly in the Jackson Twp. and N. Codorus Twp. municipal offices as a secretary until she retired. She was a member of Susquehann­a Grace Community Church in Wrightsvil­le. She enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening and caring for her farm with her late husband Curtis. In her later years she enjoyed traveling and entertaini­ng family and friends with her husband Len. Her passion in life was the love and time she invested into her family and her relationsh­ip with God.

In addition to her husband Leonard, she is survived by her children Cindie Lauer of York, Lorie Luckenbaug­h of Spring Grove, Daniel Aikins and wife Rena’ of Seven Valleys and Kristin Rice and husband William of Spring Grove; her step children Ed Johnson of Downingtow­n, Sandie Gerringer of Honey Brook and Leonard E. Johnson Jr. of Phoenixvil­le and many grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren. She was the sister of Alice Jane Jackson, George Bircher and Charles Bircher. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by her daughter Debra J. Bolen and her grandson Kyle Luckenbaug­h.

A funeral service in celebratio­n of her life will be held on Friday at 7:00 pm at Susquehann­a Grace Community Church, 6694 Sunrise Ave., Wrightsvil­le PA 17368 with pastors Rev. Lonnie Skiles and Rev. Larry Katz officiatin­g. A viewing will be held on Friday from 5-7pm at the church. There will also be a graveside service on Saturday at 10:00 am at Philadelph­ia Memorial Park, 124 Phoenixvil­le Pike, Frazer, PA 19355. A funeral cortege will form inside the entrance of the cemetery at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons in her honor may be made to Susquehann­a Grace Community Church.
