Suspect turns himself in to police
Aaron Humphrey, wanted for aggravated assault, robbery and related charges, surrenders
COATESVILLE >> A suspect wanted for an alleged gun-related incident turned himself in to police Tuesday night.
Coatesville police said that Aaron Jermaine Humphrey, 33, of Coatesville, turned himself in following an incident Sunday night where police said he allegedly pulled a gun on two people who reportedly engaged in a confrontation with him.
When the confrontation continued in the 700 block of East Lincoln Highway at Pennsylvania Avenue, family members of the one victim then attempted to
help defuse the situation, according to the police report.
Police said that Humphrey then allegedly hit one of the victims in the head with his gun. At that time, the gun discharged and the bullet hit an occupied car that was parked in a nearby lot. No one was struck by the bullet.
At that point, Humphrey then allegedly left the scene in his car, striking the other victim with the front of his car, according to police.
Humphrey is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, possessing instruments of crime, recklessly endangering another person and related charges, according to police and his online criminal report. Humphrey was arraigned on Wednesday in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory V. Hines. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 29 with Hines. Humphrey is in Chester County Prison unable to post his bail set at $250,000 monetary.
This incident was the first of three gun-related incidents in the city this week.
