Richad ‘Dick’ Charles Van Lenten Jr. of Abbottstow­n, formerly of West Chester

Richard “Dick” Charles Van Lenten, Jr., 74, of Abbottstow­n, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at home.

He was the loving husband of Marilyn H. (Vogel) Van Lenten, Abbottstow­n. Together they would have celebrated 49 years of marriage on May 25, 2017.

He was born May 9, 1941 in Norwalk, CT, the son of the late Richard Charles and Dorothy (Connelly) Van Lenten and grew up in and near Paterson, New Jersey.

Dick served in the United States Navy and was an electronic­s engineer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Riina and husband Walter, Ellicott City, MD and Kathleen Vickroy and husband Eric, Orlando, FL; grandchild­ren, Jacob and David Riina, Ellicott City, MD and Lloyd and Isabelle Vickroy, Orlando,FL

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11 AM at the United Church of Christ East Goshen, 1201 North Chester Rd., West Chester, PA with Rev. Angelee Benner-Smith officiatin­g. The family will receive friends and share memories on Saturday from 10 AM until the start of the service at the church.
