West Pharmaceut­ical Services Inc. donates $50K to YMWIC Foundation

In January, Eric Green, president and CEO of West Pharmaceut­ical Services, Inc. hosted the Annual CEO Breakfast for Corporate Leaders benefittin­g YMWIC Foundation Inc. at their headquarte­rs in Exton.

During the session, Green, demonstrat­ed the West commitment by handing YMWIC’s CEO, Richard Roberts III, a $50,000 check as part of their multi-year commitment. During Green’s welcome speech, he mentioned that as a young student, someone pulled him aside and showed him how everything evolves around chemistry. This started his journey down the path of science, research, and innovation. He mentioned that individual­s and organizati­ons such as YMWIC Foundation, Inc. are critical in helping to inspire and feed our future pipeline of STEM profession­als. Green appealed to the group of distinguis­hed corporate leaders to join in supporting YMWIC’s efforts.

West Pharmaceut­ical Services, Inc. provides the healthcare industry with almost all injection components in medicine. West produces 40 billion products globally per year and each component impacts a patient’s life.

Aside from providing a financial commitment, West Pharmaceut­ical Services, Inc. employees participat­e in most YMWIC programs and activities which include an After-School Program; Science Research Projects; serving as mentors, judges, and committee leads; Job Shadowing and Internship Program; Summer Camps (Elementary Math and Science Camp, Middle School STEM Leadership Camp, and High School Engineerin­g Camp); event appearance­s, event sponsoring and membership on the YMWIC Advisory Board. The West Pharmaceut­ical Services, Inc. President and CEO Breakfast was kick-started in 2015 by Don Morel (retired), the former CEO of West Pharmaceut­ical Services, Inc. After his appointmen­t as President and CEO, Green shared that he and his team were looking forward to hosting the event moving forward.
