West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. donates $50K to YMWIC Foundation
In January, Eric Green, president and CEO of West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. hosted the Annual CEO Breakfast for Corporate Leaders benefitting YMWIC Foundation Inc. at their headquarters in Exton.
During the session, Green, demonstrated the West commitment by handing YMWIC’s CEO, Richard Roberts III, a $50,000 check as part of their multi-year commitment. During Green’s welcome speech, he mentioned that as a young student, someone pulled him aside and showed him how everything evolves around chemistry. This started his journey down the path of science, research, and innovation. He mentioned that individuals and organizations such as YMWIC Foundation, Inc. are critical in helping to inspire and feed our future pipeline of STEM professionals. Green appealed to the group of distinguished corporate leaders to join in supporting YMWIC’s efforts.
West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. provides the healthcare industry with almost all injection components in medicine. West produces 40 billion products globally per year and each component impacts a patient’s life.
Aside from providing a financial commitment, West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. employees participate in most YMWIC programs and activities which include an After-School Program; Science Research Projects; serving as mentors, judges, and committee leads; Job Shadowing and Internship Program; Summer Camps (Elementary Math and Science Camp, Middle School STEM Leadership Camp, and High School Engineering Camp); event appearances, event sponsoring and membership on the YMWIC Advisory Board. The West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. President and CEO Breakfast was kick-started in 2015 by Don Morel (retired), the former CEO of West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. After his appointment as President and CEO, Green shared that he and his team were looking forward to hosting the event moving forward.
