Franklin D. Harry, 74, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Joy A. Harry, with whom he shared 58 plus years of marriage.

Born in West Chester, Franklin was the son of the late Pearl Ruth (Estheimer) Harry and Lester W. Harry, Sr.

An area resident his entire life, he worked for Amtrak in the Maintenanc­e and Weigh Dept. as a Heavy Equipment Operator for 30 years, retiring in 2007; and earlier in life he worked as a contractor.

He was married in the Romansvill­e United Methodist Church. He was a member of many social clubs, including the Coatesvill­e Moose, and the West Caln and Atglen Sportsman’s Clubs.

Franklin is survived, in addition to his wife, by his daughter, Pearlann Spencer, wife of Paul, of Morgantown; two grandsons and one granddaugh­ter; three great-grandchild­ren; a niece Darlene and family of Alta Loma, CA; and a nephew Howard Taylor of Downingtow­n.

He was predecease­d by his two brothers, Lester Harry Jr. and Thomas Estheimer.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 12th at 11 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, Pa. followed by interment in the Fairview Cemetery. The visitation will be from 10 until 11 AM.
