Honey Brook woman busted for bank heist

HONEY BROOK >> A Honey Brook woman was arrested in connection with a bank robbery that took place Feb. 22, authoritie­s said.

On April 24, the Honey Brook Borough Police Department and Chester County Detectives arrested Megan Courtney Collins, age 31, of the 2500 block of Conestoga Avenue, Honey Brook, in connection with a bank robbery on Feb. 22.

On Feb. 22, the Honey Brook Borough Police Department responded to the M&T Bank located in the 4700 block of Horseshoe Pike, Honey Brook Borough for a bank robbery. Witnesses reported that a white female, wearing a disguise, entered the bank and presented a demand note to a bank employee. The employee of M&T Bank complied and turned over an amount of United States Currency and then the female left the bank.

As a result of this investigat­ion by the Honey Brook Borough Police Chief Patrick J. Ely and Chester County Detectives, Detective Martin, Detective Bucci and Detective Lynch evidence was developed to link Megan Courtney Collins to the bank robbery.

Collins has been charged by police with robbery, theft by unlawful taking or dispositio­n, receiving stolen property and possessing instrument­s of crime.

She was arraigned before Magisteria­l District Judge Michael Cabry on April 24, was sent to Chester County Prison after failing to post $350,000 bail. Collins is scheduled to appear in court on May for a preliminar­y hearing.
