Ruth E. Yost of Honey Brook

Ruth E. Yost, 88, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 31, 2017, comforted by loved ones. She was the widow of Paul T. Yost, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late George and Leila Stewart.

Born June 9, 1928 in Chester, she grew up in Ridley Township, graduating from Ridley High School in 1946, where she was a member of the marching band and honor society. She attended the Art Institute of Philadelph­ia and after graduating moved to the Downingtow­n area. She was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church and devoted to her faith. Along with being a homemaker, she worked part time many years as an administra­tive secretary for Nelms Lincoln Mercury and Exton Psychologi­cal Associates.

She and her husband spent their retirement years in Colorado Springs. An avid cat lover, she fostered and volunteere­d for various rescue programs, using her home as a shelter. They resided in Colorado for 15 years before returning back to Pennsylvan­ia at the end of 2011. She enjoyed gardening, playing the piano, watching football, traveling, old time country music and spending time with family. She will always be remembered for her love and caring of all animals.

She is survived by her sons, Lawrence S. Davidson and his partner Sheri of Middletown, PA, Thomas M. Yost and his wife Cora Lee of East Brandywine, two granddaugh­ters, Jessica Forrest and husband Jeremy, Tammy Lawrence and husband Jeff, and great-grandchild­ren; Isaac, Naomi, Evelynn, Christian, Lucas and Shiloh as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and George Stewart and a son Dennis S. Davidson.
