Roma L. Lewis, 92, passed away quietly at her home on Wednesday May 10, 2017.

Roma was born on October 26, 1924 in Lancaster, PA. She was the wife of the late Javine F. Lewis, whom she was married to for 63 years. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Levada Wimer McCardell.

Roma was a graduate of the Little Britain High School. During World War II, Roma worked as an inspector at a munitions plant in Elkton, MD. She was also a volunteer of the Penn Auxiliary at Jennersvil­le Regional Hospital for many years. She was a longtime member of Manor Presbyteri­an Church in Cochranvil­le, where she served as a deaconess and a Sunday school teacher.

Roma is survived by her son, Thomas F. Lewis and his wife, Linda, of Cochranvil­le; four grandchild­ren, Timothy Lewis and his wife, Shannon, of Quarryvill­e, Luann Gain and her husband, Matthew, of Oxford, Erin Lewis of Sterling, Virginia, and Joseph Lewis and his wife, Lisa, of Landenberg; and five greatgrand­children, Nolan, Leah, Darby, Ryan, and Wyatt.

She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Holmes, of West Chester, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predecease­d by 3 brothers and 6 sisters.

Friends may call from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, May 15, and again on Tuesday, May 16, from 10:0011:00am, followed by services at 11:00am at the Edward Collins Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 86 Pine St. Oxford, PA.

Interment will be at Faggs Manor Cemetery, Cochranvil­le.
