Elizabeth Anne Carter Sleeman, formerly of Downingtown
Elizabeth Anne Carter Sleeman, 73, passed away in Richmond, VA peacefully with her family surrounding her on Friday, May 5, 2017.
Anne was born Dec. 16, 1943 to the late Everett and Dora Collawn Carter. Moving to Downingtown from Buffalo, New York in 1972, she was an active member at Central Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed bowling and her community outreach. Later they became members of Messiah Lutheran Church in Downingtown. She also was a member at Whitford Country Club and became a avid Golfer. She loved playing West Bradford Softball and being a Cub Scout Den Mother. Both of her sons became Eagle Scouts. She was employed by Weichert Realtors in Exton She enjoyed the Jersey shore in the summers and traveled extensively. A caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and sister-in-law, her family was the most important of Anne’s life, but her most enjoyment was her four grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, John Sleeman of Beaverdam, VA; son Greg Sleeman and his son, Christopher of Unionville, PA, daughter, Lori Matulevich and her husband Jonathan and her three children, Tyler, Hannah and Ella of Florida, and son, Jeff of Sheffield, PA.
A visitation to celebrate her life will be held from 4-8 pm on Friday, May 26 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Anne’s Hope at https://www.youcaring. com/Anneshope or mail to 17268 White Pine Road, Beaverdam, VA. 23015.
