Husband accused of wife beating
Miguel Perez-Lopez, 31, allegedly punched, kicked and choked his wife during domestic altercation
Lansdale police say a 31-year-old borough man beat up his wife Thursday during an altercation inside their home, sending her to the hospital with injuries.
Miguel Angel Perez-Lopez, of the 100 block of East Main Street, has been charged with misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment.
Police responded to an area hospital shortly after midnight on May 18 for a report of an assault victim who had been admitted, and spoke to Perez-Lopez’s wife, who said that PerezLopez had gotten angry at her and punched her twice in the face and once in the stomach, kicked her in the ribs, and choked her for approximately 10 seconds, according to a criminal complaint filed in district court.
Cops went to the couple’s residence and took Perez-Lopez into custody without incident. Perez-Lopez reeked of alcohol, and a preliminary breath test indicated his blood alcohol concentration was .115 percent, according to court documents.
Perez-Lopez had a blood stain on his clothing and an abrasion on his knuckle, police said.
During the investigation, Perez-Lopez’s wife — who received four stitches to her upper lip due to Perez-Lopez punching her, according to the complaint — told authorities her husband “has been violent with her in the past on numerous occasions,” and also told police that her husband was in the country illegally.
