Montgomery County lawyers have so much talent among them that they can put on a music festival at the Ardmore Music Hall. Strike up the band. “Lawyerpalooza” celebrates the Montgomery Bar Foundation’s 30th anniversary with a June 1 benefit for justice-related causes with “local lawyers who rock” and friends.

It’s open to the public event, and the emcee will be 38th Judicial District Common Pleas Court Judge Gary S. Silow — who, according to Montgomery Bar Foundation Director of Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs Jim Mathias, was a professional stage actor before practicing law. Who knew? Your lineup: Mark Schultz and the Wayne Rangers, Out of Order (with Patrick Kurtas and Cary Hall), The Public Offenders (with David Conver), James Bainbridge’s Brighton Road, Analog Groove (with Alfred Bell, Mark Harris and Josh Mixon), CTO Midtown Express (with Assistant U.S. Attorney Virgil Walker), and Class Action and the Marshall Dennehey Horns.

What else can you tell me about these bands, besides that they like legal jokes?

Class Action and the Marshall Dennehey Horns were finalists in “Fortune” magazine’s Battle of the Corporate Bands Competition at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

Mark Schultz, a Lawyerpalooza organizer and sponsor, is a bluegrass artist who regularly performs before thousands at events like The Philadelphia Folk Festival.

Virgil Walker performs in major venues from Con-

necticut to Florida with CTO Midtown Express.

According to Mathias:

“Some lawyers have been known not to divulge all of their secrets until the time is just right. We’ve only scratched the surface with the type of talent rumored to grace the stage of the Ardmore Music Hall on June 1.”

When does it start?

Doors open at 7 p.m. Thursday June 1 and the concert begins at 7:30. The Ardmore Music Hall is at 23 E. Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore.

Tell me about the Montgomery Bar Foundation.

The foundation’s members are more than 2,000 attorneys and judges. Since its formation in 1987, they have awarded

more than $655,000 in grants and special project funding to causes aligned with its mission of helping to ensure equal access to justice. They’re located at 100 W. Airy St., Norristown.
