Men assaulted, robbed in home invasion

Police searching for four suspects

CALN » While the nation reflected on the meaning of Memorial Day, police say that four armed men allegedly robbed and assaulted two men during a home invasion, and it didn’t stop there.

Caln and Coatesville police departments’ investigators became aware of a home invasion on Tuesday that police said originated in Caln on Monday and resulted in the kidnapping of a 52-year-old man.

Caln police said the investigation revealed that four armed suspects confronted two shopkeepers at their home on Toth Avenue in Caln at about 8 p.m. on Monday. The suspects reportedly assaulted the victims and detained them in their home while they ransacked the residence looking for valuables and cash, according to police.

Police said the suspects then placed one of the victims inside the trunk of the victim’s car and forced the other victim to respond to two separate shops, both in Coatesville, on Fifth Avenue and the 600 block of Lincoln Highway ,where the victims are employed and had worked earlier that night. Police said the suspects used one of the victims to gain entry into both shops where the suspects allegedly committed an additional theft before they abandoned the victim in his vehicle in Coates-

ville. Police said one victim sustained a broken jaw and a severe laceration to the head and the other victim, also a 52-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.

The victims told police that the suspects were

dressed in all black and wore gloves and facial coverings. At least three suspects came armed, which included a handgun and two shotguns, according to police.

The Chester County Detectives assisted in the investigation, along with detectives from the Caln Police Department and Coatesville Police Department. Police ask that anyone with information contact the Caln Police Criminal Investigation Division at 610-383-1821 or 610-3837000.
