East Goshen takes part in regional working lunch initiative

- Staff Report

EAST GOSHEN » East Goshen Township took part in the On the Table Philly initiative recently. The On the Table Philly initiative is an annual one-day event of mealtime conversations with the goal of making communities stronger through increased communication and collaboration. The Philadelphia Foundation and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation have partnered to bring On the Table to greater Philadelphia.

East Goshen Township’s On the Table was a wonderfully productive meeting with an array of community leaders bringing their unique vantage points to the table. These leaders included WEGO Police Chief Brenda Bernot, CTDI’s Rick Chew representing business considerations, local residents, Township volunteer commission members and Township staff.

All were in agreement that East Goshen Township is a wonderful place to live, work and play. It is a safe community, with a wonderful park system and a caring resident population where you could truly “lend a cup of sugar” to your neighbor. A conclusion drawn was that transportation options need to be upgraded along Paoli Pike, with attendees agreeing it would help their unique community needs. The township envisions the Paoli Pike Trail project serving to meet this community opportunity.
