Martha T. Houck of Christiana, Pa.

1946-2017

Martha T. Houck, age 70, passed away at the Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, May 28, 2017.

She was the wife of Larry A. Houck, with whom she celebrated 25 years of marriage on June 7th of last year.

She was born in Coatesville, daughter of the late George & Cevilla Hepner Whiteman. She graduated from Bishop Shanahan High School class of 1964. Martha worked as a reading specialist aide for over 20 years at the former Parkesburg Elementary School and then Octorara Elementary School retiring in 2005. She was very involved with her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family.

Surviving besides her husband are 2 children: Laura J. wife of Steven Mihalak of Coatesville, Eric S. McEachern, fiance of Jennifer Mixon of Chesnee, S.C., 2 step children: Jeffrey Houck & Candice Coy both of New Holland, 6 grandchildren, 2 brothers: Charles husband of Margaret “Peggy” Andrien Whiteman of Coatesville, Donald Whiteman, fiance of Robin Feister Palmer of Coatesville. She was preceded in death by 3 siblings: Maryann Miller, George & Anne Whiteman.

A memorial service will take place at Chantry Place, 15 North Bridge Street, Christiana, PA on Saturday, June 10th at 11 a.m. with a time to greet the family from 10 a.m. until time of service. There will be a time of refreshments following the service.
