He was the husband of the late Wanda Myers Lepore, who died in 1999. Born in Atglen, he was the son of the late Sylvan and Alberta Wallace Lepore.

He was a 1942 graduate of Scott High School in Coatesville, then graduated then from the Capitol City Radio School in Washington DC, which trained junior engineers during World War II. King St. He was a pioneer in introducing color televisions to the Lancaster community and from 1947 to 1966 sold more TVs than any other retailer in Lancaster County. He was also a major seller of Whirlpool appliances. Eventually, he invested in apartment buildings in Lancaster city. He partnered with E. James Hogan to build Cedar Acres East in the 1960s and later developed other properties with Mr. Hogan. He continued to work with the Hogan family and at the time of his passing was president of Cedar Acres East. Investments and property development remained an important interest until his death.
