Wawa in Concord held up twice in two days
Police seek to determine if same man committed both heists
CONCORD » An area Wawa was held up at gunpoint twice over the weekend, and police are wondering if the same man is responsible for both heists.
The first time the suspect walked away emptyhanded, but the second time he managed to flee with some cash.
The first incident occurred at the Wawa at Baltimore Pike and Stoneybank Road just before 10 p.m. Saturday.
After entering the store and buying something at the cash register, a man showed a handgun and demanded the money from the cash register, police said. But instead of waiting for the cash, he for some reason fled the store.
Police believe the same man may have returned just before 6:30 Sunday night. Same routine. Again he approached the counter, bought something, then demanded money from the cash register after displaying a gun. He got an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the store, police said.
The suspect is described as a thin black man, 5 feet, 8 inches to 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing Police believe it’s possible the same man may have robbed a Concord Wawa twice in two days over the weekend. The man was captured in this surveillance video. all black clothing Saturday, and on Sunday was sporting a black baseball cap and Sunday, a gray knit winter hat.
