Janet Steen of Coatesville
Janet Steen, 88, passed away on June 17, 2017 at Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester.
She was the loving wife of the late John C. Steen.
Born on November 8, 1928 in Birdsboro, PA she was the daughter of the late James Alderman and Hazel Ogden Alderman.
Janet worked for the Lukens Steel Co. in the Main Office, for the Coatesville Water Authority and the Valley Twp. Tax Collector. Janet’s spirit forever touched the lives of so many who had the privilege to know her. She was “Aunt Jannie” to three generations, and a mother figure to countless others.
Christmas will never be the same again for all those who made the annual pilgrimage to Janet’s door, to receive that famous tin of her cherished cookies. She will truly be missed. Janet is survived by sons Timothy J. Steen of Coatesville, John C. Steen of Coatesville, grandchildren Michelle Smith, Timothy Steen Jr., Cory Jo Steen, great grandchild Aiden Smith and a brother Theodore (Ted) Alderman of Coatesville. Janet was predeceased by brothers, James, Herman (Bookie), Robert (Whitey), William (Wild Bill), Evan (Evie) Alderman, sisters Virginia Ebelhar (Doll) and Evelyn (Ezzy) Slody.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Maclean-Chamberlain Funeral Home at 12:00 noon with a time of visitation from 10:00 am till the service.
Interment will follow the service at St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Coatesville.
