Police investigate several theft reports
Police investigated several theft reports, including a report of nearly $500 worth of merchandize stolen from a store by an employee.
West Whiteland police said Sharon Birckett, 26, of Coatesville, was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property after patrol officers responded to the Babies R Us store in the 100 block of Bartlett Avenue for an alleged $483 theft by an employee on June 6. Birckett was released on a criminal summons.
The following are from West Whiteland police reports: charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property after patrol officers responded to the Kohl’s store in the 200 block of West Lincoln Highway for an alleged $418 theft on June 3. Landis was released on a criminal summons.
Police said Trevor Snell, 20, of Coatesville, was charged with retail theft on June 4 after patrol officers responded to the Wal-Mart store in the 200 block of Indian Run Street for an alleged $9 theft. Snell was issued a non-traffic citation and released.
Police said Josefa Segura, 27, of West Chester, was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property after patrol officers responded to an alleged $170 theft at the Boscov’s store located in the 100 block of Exton Square Parkway on June 6. Segura was released on a criminal summons.
Police said Maha Attia, 63, of Berwyn, was charged with retail theft on June 8 after patrol officers responded to the Boscov’s store located in the 100 block of Exton Square Parkway for an alleged $62 theft. Attia was issued a non-traffic citation and released. to the police report. Campbell and Boggs were released on a criminal summons.
Police said Hillary Probst, 24, of Malvern, was charged with DUI, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on June 12 after officers responded to the intersection of East Lincoln Highway and North Ship Road for a onevehicle crash. Officers made contact with Probst, identified as the driver. Probst was arrested after reportedly failing field sobriety tests. The contraband was recovered during her arrest, according to the police report. She was released on a criminal summons.
Police said Iris Wagner and Renee Butler, both 18, of Glenmoore, were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia on June 13 after a patrol officer investigated a suspicious vehicle on Old Valley Road. Police said drug paraphernalia was recovered. An alleged fraudulent identification was also recovered from Butler during her arrest, police said, she was additionally charged with carrying a false identification card.
Police said Kordan Wylie, 22, of West Chester, was charged with possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and driving without a valid license. A patrol officer traveled on Route 100 and smelled an odor of marijuana. The officer noted that the odor was coming from a nearby vehicle. The officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with Wylie. Police said the suspected marijuana and paraphernalia was recovered during the traffic stop. Wylie was released on a criminal summons.
