West Chester gets four new police officers

The West Chester Police Department swore in four new police officers at Wednesday’s Borough Council meeting.

The officers were administer­ed the oath of office by Mayor Jordon C. Norley.

The new officers took an oath to sacrifice, serve and protect the community.

“There is nothing more honorable then a vocation of service to the public,” Chief Scott Bohn said.

The newest of West Chester’s finest are:

Brandon DeLoia is a graduate of Central Dauphin High School and a 2016 graduate of West Chester University. DeLoia interned with the West Chester Police Department. He completed the Municipal Police Officers Training course under Act 120 at the Delaware County Community College.

Ryan Donkin is a graduate of Ridley High School and Harford Community College, where he earned an associates degree in criminal justice. He then attended the University of Delaware and attained a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. Donkin completed the Municipal Police Officers Training course under Act 120 at the Delaware County Community College.

Joseph Kamp is a graduate of the Church Farm School, Kamp attained a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy from Franklin & Marshall College. He received a post-graduate diploma from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Kamp completed the Municipal Police Officers Training Course under Act 120 at the Montgomery County Community College in March 2016. He has experience as a part-time police officer with West Brandywine Police Department, and as a park ranger for the Pennsylvan­ia Department of Conservati­on and Natural Resources (DCNR).

Adriana Zeiders graduated from Hampfield High School. Zeiders attained a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice from West Chester University. She was selected as an all-American rugby player and as part of her educationa­l developmen­t, interned with the West Chester Police Department. Zeiders is scheduled to attend the Delaware County Community College Police Academy on a full-time basis in July.
