22 crimes reported in Pottstown last week

Drug and alcohol violations led crime in Pottstown in the past week with five incidents.

According to crimemappi­ng.com, a police-run website used to inform the public about crime in their area, drug and alcohol violations had the highest total in the last week. Four of the five reported incidents involved drug possession and occurred on Beech Street and Evans Street along with two incidents on King Street. One case of public drunkennes­s was reported on the 500 block of Chestnut Street.

Theft was the second most reported crime over the past week with two retail thefts reported on the 200 block of Shoemaker Road, one theft from buildings reported on the 400 block of Chestnut Street and a theft of bicycles on the 700 block of Farmington Avenue.

Three non-aggravated assaults also occurred last week on the 1100 block of South Street, the 100 block of Sheridan Street and the 1600 block of East High Street.

Two incidents involving harassment were reported on the 500 block of East High Street and the 100 block of South Street along with a case of disorderly conduct on the 1500 block of East High Street.

Two armed robberies were also reported since June 13 on the 300 block of Manatawny Street and the 700 block of North Charlotte Street.

DUI, burglary, vandalism, vehicle theft and weapons offenses were each reported once over the past week. A DUI was reported on the 700 block of North Charlotte Street while a burglary involving forced entry was reported on the 300 block of North Evans Street. Vandalism to buildings was reported on the 100 block of Potts Drive and a vehicle theft occurred on West Fifth Street. A weapons offense involving firearms occurred on the 100 block of North Charlotte Street.
