The pursuit of hirsute equality should be considered a national issue

Mary Lee, a great white shark, may produce terror or concern along the South Jersey coast but beach goers may face something even more terrifying as summer arrives.

The company Beloved Shirts has released a swimsuit for women that appears to showcase chest hair, butt hair and even back hair.

Unfortunate that Mother’s Day has passed. Picture mom or nana rockin’ hirsute or her suit as Mary Lee, a 16-foot, 3,456-pound great white, cruises along Ocean City, Ventnor and Longport.

Imagine the big fish’s surprise when people start running into the ocean as females disrobe and unveil hair, even if it’s from a fake suit.

The Sexy Chest One Piece Swimsuit is available in three different skin tones, and six different sizes for a brisk $44.95.

It’s difficult understanding the need for faux fur when women can just as easily stop shaving and deliver an honest presentation of natural hair.

Many young women have engaged in positive body presentations by growing underarm hair while others move toward hair growth on legs.

“I always shave my underarms,” a female coworker acknowledged. “Legs? That’s a different story. During winter when my legs are covered, I let the hair grow out.”

Xiao Meili, a Chinese women’s rights activist, held a 2015 competition that awarded prizes to women who delivered creative underarm hair growth.

Hair remains a topic of fascination for U.S. women as many reject social norms. Women should enjoy freedoms allowed for men, including going topless in public.

This pursuit of hirsute equality should be considered a national issue that needs immediate resolution. Hair, despite it being part of the human anatomy since the dawning of humankind, creates interesting responses.

Like, consider the odds of a hair appearing in food. Bunch of humans handling food, well, one would expect an occasional hair follicle.

Human hair potentially can carry staph bacteria which causes diarrhea but health experts note a person would have to consume an entire head’s worth of infected hair to cause serious issues.

Finding a strand of hair in a tasty plate of spaghetti should not cause skeevish reactions. It’s probably better that you pull out the hair and continue eating.

According to Forensic Science Technician, an average person’s yearly fast food intake will contain 12 pubic hairs. Uhh, maybe we should skip the drive thru and settle for a homecooked meal.

Food and Drug Administration officials allow low-level amounts of rodent hair to appear in spices as well as in peanut butter, popcorn, corn meal and even macaroni.

Can we talk? Sexual activity can come to a screeching halt if one encounters a pubic hair during oral sex. So, grooming, maintains an important role for intimacy.

“Yep. It’s important that my husband stays well groomed down there,” she said. Point taken.

A JAMA Dermatology report noted that a nationally representative sample of 3,316 women showed that “84 percent engaged in some form of pubic hair removal by scissor, razor, wax, tweezer, depilatory cream, laser or electrolysis.”

An internet survey of 334 men determined that “82 percent of gay men and 66 percent of heterosexual men reported removing their pubic hair at least once.”

Expect even more male hair removal as men’s attitudes toward personal grooming evolves. It’s a strange situation as women allow for increased hair displays on legs and underarms while men move toward hair removal on genital areas, backs and chests.

The one hair situation that produces the worst reaction involves moving into a new apartment or house and cleaning the bathroom.

Almost nothing compares to removing the bathtub drain and witnessing all that hair left over from previous residents.

(If this column had sound effects, you could hear vomiting right now).

As far as the Beloved bathing suit? Just go natural.
