Weis Markets unveils beer, wine café
OLEY » Beer and wine enthusiasts in the Oley area no longer have to travel far to stock their refrigerators and wine racks.
Weis Markets, located at 61 King’s Plaza in Oley, recently celebrated its grand reopening, showcasing a new beer and wine café and other renovations that include an updated pharmacy, bakery department, deli and floral area.
The beer and wine café, with seating for about 30, stocks 800 varieties of beer and 180 varieties of wine. Featured are locally crafted and specialty beers along with a large and varied complement of wines.
The Oley store is the 52nd store Weis has renovated to include a beer and wine café. According to Dennis Curtin, director of public relations for Weis Markets, the cafés have been a huge success, with more planned for the future.
“There’s been an overwhelming response from customers, who love the convenience,” Curtin said.

what Curtin describes as “a modern feel.” The pharmacy
and meat departments have expanded, and the store is offering a newer, larger variety of organic and glutenfree products. Hand-rolled sushi is now made fresh in the store.
Curtin said the store eventually expects to expand its wine selection to 250 varieties. Local and craft beers will continue to be featured, along with other domestic and foreign brands.
