Three facing forgery charges

Three face forgery charges after cash withdrawal­s at Giant Food Store.

WEST WHITELAND » When alerted to a suspicious fraudulent activity, police were able to find suspects as they left a store.

West Whiteland police said Kuweka Lucas, 18, of Stockbrige, Georgia, Jerron Wilson, 29, of Coatesvill­e, and Zaques Scott, 28, of Stockbrige, Georgia, were arrested on June 26 and charged with forgery, access device, fraud, theft by deception and possession of marijuana. The charges were filed after patrol officers responded to the Giant Food store in the 100 block of East Swedesford Road for a report of a suspicious condition. The reporting party alleged that the suspects were in the store using multiple debit cards to make cash withdrawal­s. An officer was responding to the scene when he observed the suspects driving away from the store. Police conducted traffic stop and at that time, police said five Citadel debit cards and a small amount of marijuana were recovered.

All three were arrested and arraigned by Judge John Bailey and remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post their $7,500 cash bail. A preliminar­y hearing is scheduled for July 3.

Police said the investigat­ion is still continuing and more charges are expected to be filed in the matter. Police ask that anyone who may have been a victim to report the matter to their local police department.

Retail theft

Police said Octavia Hall, 26, of Philadelph­ia, was charged with forgery, theft by deception, retail theft and receiving stolen property after an investigat­ion into the alleged passing of two counterfei­t $100 bills at the Gap Kids store in the Exton Square Mall on June 12. A warrant was issued for Hall and investigat­ors are attempting to locate her. Police ask anyone with informatio­n on Hall’s whereabout­s to call 911.

Police said April Blessing, 37, of Exton, was issued a non-traffic citation for retail theft on June 24 after an officer responded to the Boscov’s store for an alleged

$111 theft.

Police said William Wallace, 36, of West Chester, was issued a non-traffic retail theft on June 24 after an officer responded to the Wal-Mart store for an alleged $25 theft.

Police said Domonique Nixon, 22, and Shavonte Buchanan, 22, both of Coatesvill­e, were arrested for retail theft on June 26 after officers responded to the Wal-Mart store for alleged thefts of $214 worth of merchandis­e. Buchanan was issued a non-traffic citation and released. Nixon, who had one alleged prior retail theft conviction, was released on a criminal summons.

Police said Maria Rodezno, 44, of Downingtow­n, was charged with retail theft and Receiving Stolen Property on June 16 after officers responded to the Kohl’s store for an alleged $303 theft.

While processing Rodezno through Livecan, officers were alerted that her fingerprin­ts were a match to a suspect with an alias name of Alejandra Perales. The officers also discovered that a warrant was issued by U.S. Immigratio­n and Customs Enforcemen­t for her Perales. She was arraigned and transporte­d to Chester County Prison for lodging pending a preliminar­y hearing before District Justice John Bailey in Exton.

DUI

Police said Francesco Aguilera-Garcia, 21, of Coatesvill­e, was charged with DUI on June 24 after an officer conducted a traffic stop on West Lincoln Highway because her vehicle did not have a valid registrati­on. Police said Aguilera-Garcia was arrested after reportedly failing field sobriety tests. He was released on a criminal summons.

Police said David Scavitto, 21, of Coatesvill­e, was charged with DUI and traffic offenses on June 24. An officer said they observed Scavitto reportedly travel through a red traffic signal at the Route 30 Bypass and Pottstown Pike. Police said he was arrested after reportedly failing field sobriety tests.

Police said William Higgins, 21, of Downingtow­n, was charged with DUI and a traffic offense on June 17. An officer said they observed Higgins reportedly travel through a red traffic signal at the Route 30 Bypass and Pottstown Pike. Higgins was arrested after failing reportedly field sobriety tests. He was released on a criminal summons.

Police said Matthew Walker, 26, of Blackwood, New Jersey, was charged with DUI and traffic offenses on June 17 after a patrol officer responded to a one-vehicle crash on the Route 30 Bypass. Walker was arrested after reportedly failing field sobriety tests. He was released on a criminal summons.

Drugs

Police said Devante Williams, 21, of Landenberg, was charged with alleged possession of marijuana on June 24. An officer said they observed Williams reportedly travel through a red traffic signal at the Route 30 Bypass and Pottstown Pike. During a traffic stop, police said they recovered the contraband. Williams was released on a criminal summons, according to the police report.
