Ann Marie ‘Nancy’ Dooley Ellis of Coatesville

Ann Marie “Nancy” Dooley Ellis, 87, died Saturday, August 12, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Butler Dooley and the wife of Gable Ellis with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.

Nancy was a member of St. Peter Church, West Brandywine.

She was a 1948 graduate of S. Horace Scott High School.

Nancy was a member of Coatesville Moose Lodge No. 297.

Nancy worked as a secretary at Brandywine Hospital for many years.

In addition to her husband, Gabe, Nancy is survived by her daughter Rosemary Young and her son Jeffrey Ellis and his wife Rose Marie all of Coatesville; 7 grandchildren: Tammie Stoltzfus (Dennis), Ronald Ellis, Nancy Edinger, Timothy Ellis, Jeffrey (Michelle), Kenneth Ellis (Cherise) and Ann Marie Ellis; one stepgranddaughter, Theresa Stewart; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Jane Lasak and her husband Frank.

Nancy was predeceased by her son, Ronald Ellis and grandson, Michael Ellis.

Nancy’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Peter Church, 2835 Manor Road, West Brandywine with visitation beginning at 9:30am.

Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Coatesville.
