Charges filed after juveniles mace each other in Coatesvill­e

JUVENILES MACED » On Aug. 10, at 4:28 p.m., police were dispatched to Woodland Avenue for a EMS call of two juveniles being sprayed with mace during an altercatio­n. Police said a 15-year-old male was arguing with his 18-year-old brother and their 16-yearold sister attempted to break up the fight, at which time all were sprayed with mace. The juveniles sustained eye irritation. All were treated by EMS staff. Summary disorderly conduct charges were filed. HARASSMENT » Police said Joshua Bush, 28, of West Chester, called a female and a male who reside in the 700 block of Merchant Street in excess of 100 times. Police contacted Bush and told him if he didn’t stop, he would be criminally charged with harassment. But on Aug. 10, police said Bush resumed the harassing phone calls. Charges are forthcomin­g. WARRANT ARREST » On Aug. 11, Coatesvill­e Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Third and Walnut streets at 12:48 a.m. During the course of the stop, officers were able to identify Shakera Alston as a passenger. Alston was found to have an outstandin­g warrant and was taken into custody without incident. DOMESTIC ASSAULT » On Aug. 11 at 2:50 a.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbanc­e in the 500 block of East Lincoln Highway. Upon arrival, contact was made with a 30-yearold male victim who was bleeding from the face and hand. The victim said he had been struck in an argument by Daisha Irons. Irons admitted to striking the victim and was taken into custody and charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. DRUG POSSESSION » Police observed a vehicle without properly functionin­g rear lights on South Third Avenue on Aug. 12 at 1:49 a.m. During the course of the stop, marijuana and other narcotics were recovered from the vehicle. Shayne Brown, 24, of the 200 block of East Chestnut Street, Coatesvill­e, was arrested and charged. FIREARMS VIOLATION » An Aug. 13 at 1:14 a.m., officers were on stationary patrol in the area of 652 E. Lincoln Highway at the Gas Stop. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which was operated by Seth Sarmento. Sarmento was found to have two active warrants for his arrest. Sarmento resisted arrest, and was taken into custody. Police later found a loaded .40-caliber handgun under the seat of his car. Sarmento was charged with firearms violations. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF » On Aug. 13 at 10:53 p.m., a 25-year-old female reported she had gotten into a verbal argument with Jaleel Outzs, 27, of 925 N. Walnut St., Coatesvill­e. Police said Outzs threw a rock through the back window of the car owned by the victim, shattering it. Outzs fled on foot but was caught and cited for criminal mischief. ACCIDENT » On Aug. 13 at 12:14 p.m., police responded to an accident on South Sixth Avenue at Walnut Street. Robin Afroilan, 42, of Old Wilmington Road in Coatesvill­e was operating a Kia Forte on Walnut Street and proceeded through the stop sign without yielding to oncoming traffic. Moises Ocampo was traveling south in a Ford Mustang on South Sixth Avenue and struck Afroilan’s Kia as she was entering the intersecti­on. Ocampo’s Mustang veered off the roadway and up a steep embankment on the southeast corner of the intersecti­on. Police said speed is a factor in the damage to the Mustang. Both drivers were suspended operators and cited by police.

Parkesburg

AUTO THEFT » Anthony S. Perry of 28 West Street, Parkesburg, was arrested after police captured him in the 500 block of Second Avenue driving a stolen car on Aug. 11. The car was rammed by the car’s owner. Perry fled on foot but was captured. Perry was charged with theft, receiving stolen property, unauthoriz­ed use of a car and driving under suspension.
