Constance Hunter Walker of Kennett Square

-

Constance Hunter Walker, age 84, of Kennett Square, PA and Punta Gorda, FL, passed away peacefully at her Kennett Square home on Sunday, August 20th, 2017. She was the devoted wife of Jack Alexander Walker, who predeceased her on April 4th, 2017. They shared 63 years of marriage.

Connie was a remarkable woman, always optimistic, enthusiastic, eager to learn and full of questions, with a memorable laugh. She supported her husband, children and grandchildren in all of their activities. In her working years, Connie was a secretary at Sugartown Elementary School in Malvern, where her children attended. For many years she volunteered at Paoli Memorial Hospital and also knitted thousands of hats for the newborns. She also was a Girl Scout Troop Leader.

Connie had a great appreciation for nature; she loved watching the birds, deer, foxes, groundhogs and squirrels that would visit her backyard. In Florida she enjoyed sitting on the lanai with her husband, watching the sunset over the Peace River. Most of all, she enjoyed spending quality time with those closest to her, including attending all of her grandson’s track meets and going out to breakfast and dinner with the family as often as possible.

She is survived by her three children, Constance Hunter Walker of Northfield, Minn.; Wendy Lee Walker of Unionville, PA, and Jack (“Jae”) Alexander Walker of Kennett Square, PA; her three grandchildren, Merrill Lutsky of Manhattan, NY, Rosalind Lutsky of Palo Alto, CA, and Colton Walker of Kennett Square, PA.; and her two sisters, Shirley Purring of Narberth, PA and Suzanne Murr of Dover, DE.

At Connie’s request, there will be no funeral. Simply recall a fond memory and smile as you recall a life well lived.

Memorial contributions in Constance’s name can be made to the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (Attn: Funds Development), 330 Manor Road, Miquon, PA 19444 or online at www. gsep.org.

Arrangements are being handled by Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home. To view her online tribute or share con- dolences with the family, please visit www.griecocares.com.
