Fire Co. clam bake fundraiser set for Sept. 4
The funds raised will benefit the Lionville Fire Company for firefighters to have a new area to sleep overnight
UWCHLAN » The Lionville Fire Company will host its annual clam bake fundraiser Sept. 4 to help raise funds toward a sleeping area for firefighters to reduce overnight response times.
The all-you-can-eat event will take place Sunday, Sept. 4 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the station at 15 South Village Avenue in Uwchlan. The event includes live music entertainment from The Chester County Lawmen, food, beverages, 50/50, raffle prizes, a horseshoe tournament and a silent auction of sports memorabilia.
Event organizers announced that ticket prices are as follows: $40 for adults, which includes three dozen little neck clams, beverages, as well as all you can eat: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, salads, Fred’s homemade New England Clam Chowder and desserts; $20 for children aged 3-12, which includes all you can eat hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, salads, clam chowder, desserts, Wawa drinks and birch beer. It does not include clams. Children under three can eat for free.
Lionville Fire Company, established in 1911, is an all-volunteer fire company. Firefighters said the annual clam bake fundraiser is one of their largest fundraisers of the year and this year the proceeds will go toward the addition of new “Crew Quarters.”
“These new Crew Quarters will allow our dedicated volunteers to respond to emergencies directly from the station, thus reducing response times in the overnight hours,” the Lionville Fire Company said in a news release.
Firefighters ask that anyone interested in becoming a sponsor for this event email: Clambake@ lionvillefire.org. All donations are tax deductible and all sponsors will be thanked on special signage throughout the event, as
well as on the fire company website and Facebook.
