William H. ‘BI’ Bird of Gap

William H. “BI” Bird, age 79, passed away at the Brandywine Hospital on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.

He was the husband of the late Bonnie A. Stern Bird who passed away in 2016.

He was born in West Chester, and was raised by the late Norman & Clara Bird. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pequea, where in the past he was a trustee and was involved with the SBI Bus Ministry.

He worked for the former Lukens Steel Company for over 35 years. BI loved to play baseball, attend dirt track racing, street rods, reading, bird watching, Phil. Eagles, and traveling the world with a fondness for Alaska.

Surviving are 3 children: Cheri A. Armentrout, W. Michael Bird, Michelle “Shelly” wife of Jeffry Allred all of Gap, 2 grandchild­ren: Christophe­r Bird & Samantha Allred, 3 great grandchild­ren: Nate, Luke & Ava Bird. Brothers and sisters also survive.

Funeral service will take place from the First Baptist Church of Pequea, 6062 Old Philadelph­ia Pike, Gap, PA 17527, on Saturday, September 2nd at 2 p.m. with a viewing time from 1 p.m. until time of service. Pastor Patrick Audia will be officiatin­g. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributi­ons may be made to the First Baptist Church of Pequea Mission Fund.
