‘World’s Most Dangerous Man’ coming to Coatesville area
Ken Shamrock to speak at Freedom Life Church Coatesville Campus
VALLEY » Known as the “World’s Most Dangerous Man,” UFC Hall of Fame fighter Ken Shamrock will be at the Freedom Life Church Coatesville Campus at Rainbow Elementary School on Sunday, Sept. 17. He will share his personal story of trial, success, and how God transformed his life as part of the monthlong sermon message series, “My Back Story.”
Shamrock grew up fatherless, living in a poor town in the state of Georgia. When he was 10 years old he ran away from home. After being kicked out of seven group homes and serving time in juvenile hall, Shamrock was giving one final chance – living in a group home with other misguided youth named “The Shamrock Ranch.” It was here that Shamrock learned to fight, developed his natural abilities, and eventually became adopted by the overseers, Bob and Dee Dee Shamrock.
In the years that followed, Shamrock took the steps to become a professional wrestler and honed his skills that led to a celebrity status in Japan. In 1993, Shamrock responded to an ad that began his career as an Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC) competitor. In 1997, Shamrock entered the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and quickly scaled the ranks as “Rookie of the Year” and earned several champion titles.
It is written on Ken Shamrock’s website, “Whether it be choking competitors out in the Octagon, slamming his victims in the rings of professional wrestling, or entertaining the masses in mainstream movies and books, Shamrock has always embodied the essence of what it means to be a warrior on all fronts.”
Ken Shamrock will be interviewed live at the Freedom Life Church Coatesville Campus, meeting at Rainbow Elementary School, at 10 a.m.
“Every year we try to bring in a big name to reach more people with the Gospel of Jesus,” said Freedom Life Campus Pastor Josh Blackmun. “Yes, it’s entertaining for all of us, but we’re really driven to attract people who need hope or those who are one prayer away from breakthrough in their lives. “Sometimes people would rather come out to hear a celebrity or athlete instead of a local preacher, and that’s okay. Our goal is for them to receive a life-giving message that could change the trajectory of their lives for eternity.”
