Jesse Taylor Pratt Sr. (76), formerly of Prospect Park, PA, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 in Lynchburg, VA

In his last days, he was surrounded by his family and friends. Jesse was raised in Glenolden and graduated from Glen-Nor, which is now, Interboro High School. He served his country in the Navy, retired from Philadelph­ia Electric Co. after 30 years of service and enjoyed summers relaxing with his family at their cabin on the Brandywine River. He was a faithful provider and servant of the Lord. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” We are thankful for the promise that we will see him again.

Mr. Pratt was preceded in death by his parents, George S. and Mary Hemann Pratt and a brother, William Nickoson.

In addition to his wife, Joan, Mr. Pratt is survived by two daughters, Tracey P. Martin (Andrew) of Lynchburg and Wendy A. Dunmire (Daniel) of Forest; a son, Jesse T. Pratt, Jr. (Shannon) of Rustburg; a sister, Mary Abessinio (Rocco) of Delaware; a brother, John E. (“Jed”) Pratt (Jane) of Pennsylvan­ia and nine grandchild­ren, David Martin, Benjamin Martin, Rebecca Martin, Emily Martin, Grace Dunmire, Emma Dunmire, Samuel Dunmire, Logan Pratt, and Layne Pratt.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Calvary Independen­t Baptist Church, 716 Amosland Rd., Morton, PA 19070. This is where he grew up, raised his family, served the Lord, and the place he always called home.
