WEST GOSHEN » Authorities have confirmed that the body found in a wooded area behind a shopping center here is that of a young woman who went missing last month.

On Friday, the Chester County Coroner’s Office released preliminary results of an autopsy that was conducted Thursday following the discovery of the body that morning. The information identifies the deceased as Megan Little of Bear, Del.

The cause and manner of death are listed as pending; however, the coroner noted the death is not considered suspicious. The time of death is listed as being pronounced at 9:10 a.m. Thursday.

West Goshen police had issued a press release on Thursday evening stating that the body had

been found shortly after 8 a.m. after a search conducted in the woods adjoining the West Goshen Shopping Center, behind the Kmart store there. Police said they believed the body to be that of the missing woman who had last been seen Monday, Aug. 28.

Little was released from a behavior, wellness, and rehabilitation center in West Chester on that date. Shortly after that, she posted on social media, asking for friends to get in touch with her. Nothing

was heard from Little after that, police said.

On Aug. 29, a taxi driver found a suitcase containing Little’s personal property and cell phone at the rear of a property on 985 Paoli Pike, just a short distance from the shopping center. Little was known to be a heroin user who has undergone addiction treatment over the last five years.

The investigation in the case is ongoing, the police and coroner’s office stated.

Anyone with information should call West Goshen Police at 610-696-7400.
