The Whippets are 2-2 and are playing 10 sophomores in starting roles. Will Howard, the sophomore quarterback has been impressive, but West must run the ball more effectively to be a playoff team. THE GRADE » B-
Bishop Shanahan
Although the Eagles nonleague schedule was not the toughest around, they took care of business. The road gets tougher now as the Downgtowns and Coatesvilele loom on the horizon. The Eagles’ defense has been surprisingly solid.

The Red Devils garnered their first win of the season Friday with a 56-0 pasting of Octorara after a good game in a loss to Unionville, which means they may be on the upswing. THE GRADE: C-
The Hornets are no longer a surprise, they are a solid football team that can compete in the Ches-Mont American. Quarterback Chandler England has thrown 11 touchdown passes. THE GRADE » B
