COATESVILLE » Arts Holding Hands and Hearts announced that three new stations of books available to by passers will be installed on Friday.

Arts Holding Hands and Hearts (AHHAH) said on Thursday that with the three additional outdoor PULL (Pop Up Lending Library) stations, it brings the total amount of outdoor PULL Stations to 25 in Coatesville.

The journey of a PULL Station begins with being built, then primed, then designs being drawn on them, painted, housed inside a business in the community, permanently located, then filled with donated books.

“We need everyone to be caretakers,” said Jan Michener, AHHAH executive director. “Engaging the children and reading to them. We are a village.”

The new locations are Bridge of Hope at 1516 Olive Street, CYWA at 423 Lincoln Highway East, and Wentz Funeral Home at 342 E. Chestnut St.

“We are grateful to these local businesses for bringing awareness to the community about child literacy and for receiving donations of books while taking good care of the stations before moving to their permanent homes,” AHHAH members said in a statement.

During the past six weeks, the Bridge of Hope PULL Station has been housed at the Coatesville Savings Bank, The CYWA PULL Station has been housed at the Coatesville Public Library, and the Wentz Funeral Home PULL Station has been housed at Fuel City Café.

AHHAH members thanked the Coatesville Rotary for its donation; GoodWorks for hosting two building workshops; the children at the CYWA Caribbean Bash for priming and drawing design ideas; Jennifer Kasitz, a Coatesville artist, for drawing the designs on the individual boxes, highlighting aspects of their permanent homes; Art Partners Studio for hosting the painting workshop for both children and adults to paint the designs and add their special touches; and Bob Beggs for placing the PULL Stations at its new homes.

AHHAH also thanked Pennsylvania Council of the Arts and Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance for its Program Stream grant given to AHHAH which supported the four community workshops of building, designing and painting the eight new PULL Stations.
