Kids’ Day on tap at Dressage at Devon

Dressage at Devon will host Dressage Explorers’ Day on Oct. 1, which will feature activities for children.

DEVON » Dressage at Devon will host Dressage Explorers’ Day on Sunday, Oct. 1, which will feature fun and educationa­l activities for children and those young at heart.

Here are some of the activities guests can look forward to:

Meet Silva Martin – German-born and trained dressage rider, Silva Martin, is a successful competitor, sought-after trainer and coach. Silva will talk about her journey in dressage, training for her and her horses, and life as a top equestrian competitor.

DVCTA Quadrille Team’s “Snow White” Performanc­e – The Delaware Valley Combined Training Associatio­n’s quadrille team presents the classic fairytale “Snow White.” Twelve horses and riders will bring this story to life through intricate patterns and familiar music that will take you back to your childhood.

Stick Horse Competitio­n – Ride down the centerline in the Dixon Oval on your favorite steed. Bring your own or make one with us at the Make and Take Stick Horse Workshop.

Selfie Scavenger Hunt – Take a photo at our special spots and bring the photos to the Gift Shop to receive a DAD gift.

Horse Health Jeopardy – Put your thinking caps on for this challengin­g equine health trivia quiz hosted by Dr. Joseph Wagner of Unionville Equine, part of the veterinari­an support team for Dressage at Devon. Prizes will be awarded to all participan­ts!

Dressage with the Experts – Listen in! Dressage with the Experts will be broadcasti­ng during the Sunday morning classes and kids get a special discount on the radio rental.

Discounted admission! All day gate pass: Children under 3 - free Kids ages 3-12 - $5 Ages 18-21 - $5 with proof of equine organizati­on participat­ion (4H, Pony Club, high school/college equestrian team/club.)

Dressage at Devon will take place Sept. 26 – Oct. 1 at the Devon Horse Show Grounds in Devon. General admission tickets are $10 for ages 13 and above; kids ages 3-12 are $5, and children under 3 are admitted free. Reserved seating is $26 on Friday, $37 on Saturday and $10 on Sunday. Grand Prix three-day reserved seat ticket package is $66 and reserves an assigned seat for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. (Seat location may be different each day.) Reserved tickets are available online at www.dressageat­devon.org. General admission is available at the door.
