Walter ‘Rick’ E. Steffy Sr. of Quarryville, formerly of Oxford

Walter “Rick” E. Steffy, Sr., 60, of Quarryville, formerly of Oxford, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017.

He was the husband of Karen Bennett Steffy with whom he shared 37 years of marriage.

Born in West Grove, he was the son of the late Horace and Harriet Messler Steffy.

Rick was employed with G. Guizzetti & Sons Mushroom Farm, Landenberg as a truck driver.

He was a member of the American Motorcycle Assoc., Southern Lancaster County Farmers Sportsman’s Assoc.

Rick enjoyed flat track motorcycle racing and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Walter E. Steffy, II (Rebekah) of Oxford and Nathan T. Steffy (Arianna) of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Adelynn, Caden and Emmersyn; one brother, Horace “Mickey” Steffy, Jr. of Lincoln University; and two sisters, Jennie Johnston of Ephrata and Patti Arrowood of Clarkesville, AR.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathi Moore.

A memorial service will be held 4:30 pm, Saturday, Sept. 30th, at Wesley Church, 1104 Kirkwood Pike, Quarryville, PA 17566, where friends may visit from 3 – 4:30 pm.

Interment will be private.
