Octorara upends Whippets in five sets

Natalie Mowrey put away 13 kills as Octorara pulled out a five-set, 3-2 victory over Downingtown West in a Ches-Mont League girls volleyball match Tuesday.

The Braves (3-3, 6-3) won by scores of 18-25, 25-19, 1425, 25-23, 15-12.

Sarah Lazor added 16 kills and Michalea Kauffman had 12 digs.

Kenzie Pincura had 13 kills for the Whippets, Aly Reardon added 16 kills and six aces. Paige Polsin recorded 15 digs and four aces and Chloe O’Donnell tallied 24 assists.

WEST CHESTER EAST 3, OXFORD 1 » The Hornets delivered the Ches-Mont win, 2520, 25-10, 21-25, 25-14. Logan Wolfe tallied six aces, 11 kills, 17 digs and four blocks for Oxford. Madeline Williams added four aces and 15 assists, Hayley Horseman had four aces and 10 digs and Julianna Huggard chipped in nine kills.

BISHOP SHANAHAN 3, AVON GROVE 0 » The Eagles (60, 8-0) captured the ChesMont National contest, 25-16, 25-7, 25-17 as Natalie Ogden recorded seven kills and three aces. Alysa Wright notched seven kills and five blocks. Brooke Burns collected five kills and Julia Thomas four.

WEST CHESTER HENDERSON 3, KENNETT 0 » Taylor Dale notched 31 assists and Fiona Pyfer added 18 kills and six aces for the Warriors in the 25-17, 25-17, 2512 Ches-Mont triumph. Alli Tench helped out with 11 kills.

Andrew Kiddie and Matt Feeney had a 45 each for the Golden Knights. OXFORD 252, SUN VALLEY 268 » Matthew Todd shot a 45 as the Hornets (2-8, 3-12) posted the Ches-Mont American win. Yao shot a 38 with a birdie. Mikey Hamilton carded a 39, including a hole-in-one on the par-3 17th. Ryan Tall and Cutter Harvey also recorded 39s.
