Robert R. Fleck of Coatesvill­e

Robert R. Fleck, 85, of Coatesvill­e passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Coatesvill­e VA Medical Center.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Krawchuk Fleck with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.

He was the son of the late John and Esther Briggs Fleck. He was a life-long resident of Coatesvill­e, graduating from S. Horace Scott High School in 1949, where he was a two sport athlete. Bob attended Manlius Prep before entering Syracuse University, where he was selected as an AllAmerica­n in 1952 and 1953 for Football. He was selected as a member of their All Century Team in 2000.

Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1962. He was employed at Lukens Steel Company until his retirement in 1992.

He was a faithful member of the Episcopal Church of the Trinity in Coatesvill­e where he served on the vestry and as a junior warden.

Bob was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Coatesvill­e Raiders Football.

He was a former president of the Coatesvill­e Little League and served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Bob loved traveling to Clearwater Beach for Phillies Spring Training and especially enjoyed summer vacations at the shore with his family.

He is survived by his son, Robert, Jr. and wife, Brenda; daughter, Donna Fleck all of Coatesvill­e. He was very proud of his five grandchild­ren, Allison, Rick, Patrick, Laura and Caroline. He also enjoyed his six great grandchild­ren. He was preceded in death by a brother, John “Jack” Fleck, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Episcopal Church of the Trinity, 323 E. Lincoln Hwy., Coatesvill­e. Relatives and friends may call from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Monday at the Harris Mountain Funeral & Cremation Service, 1030 E. Lincoln Hwy., Coatesvill­e.

Interment will be in Holy Ghost Orthodox Cemetery, Coatesvill­e.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Trinity, 323 E. Lincoln Hwy., Coatesvill­e, PA 19320.
