John T. Tunnell of Paoli, PA

John T. Tunnell, 75, of Paoli, PA, passed on Saturday, September 30, 2017. Born March 11, 1942 in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late John Tunnell and Mildred Tunnell McKim.

He was a graduate of Conestoga High School, class of 1960 later attending University of California of Pennsylvania. Following retirement from SMS, he managed the Gateway Wine & Spirits and later became a crossing guard for Tredyffrin Easttown School District.

John was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church of Devon where he served as chairman of the trustee board, sang on the male chorus and caretaker of the church. He was also a member of the Tredyffrin Easttown Old Timers, former member of the Robinson Welburn Lodge #794 where he was a past-exalted ruler.

Surviving besides his wife, Patricia A. Tunnell, are one son, Jonathan E. Tunnell (Sheba) of Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren; three stepbrothers, Byron Williams of Eagleville, PA, Reginald Williams of Wayne, PA, and Ralph Williams of Norristown, PA and a host of relatives and friends.

One son, David T. Tunnell, preceded him in death.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 12:00noon with a viewing from 10am12pm at the Mt. Zion AME Church, 380 N. Fairfield Road, Devon, PA. Interment will be at the Valley Forge Memorial Gardens.
