Rohall collects milestone win

West Chester Rustin girls soccer head coach Peter Rohall entered an exclusive club on Wednesday as he collected his 30th career coaching victory.

The historic win came after the Golden Knights blanked Coatesvill­e, 6-0, in Ches-Mont League play.

“This is my 23rd year. I’ve had a lot of players and coaches to help me get this far,” said Rohall. “It’s been a lot of fun.

Rohall won four state titles with West Chester Henderson in the 1990s. He also had stops at Bishop Shanahan and Avon Grove.

“A lot of memories of kids who have played for me and provided me with a lot of joy,” he said.

Rohall has spent four years with the Golden Knights.

“I call my girls my soccer grandchild­ren and I have seven grandsons of my own and each time I’m around them I get a little younger,” he said.

Against the Red Raiders, Ashley Chisholm led the way with a pair of goals. Emily Betchyk, Gaby Sabeckis, Kendall Ammerman and Audrey Coffey notched single tallies.

“The kids did something after the game, which is something I appreciate­d,” he said. “But the 300th win is just one win duuring a season.”

Evan Kaiser was second for the Whippets as they swept the eight places to win their protions of the meet. OXFORD 16, SUN VALLEY 45 » Bruce Trimmer came in first place as the Hornets captured the Ches-Mont American dual meet. Gavin Fitzgerald was second, ahead of Evan Campbell and Luke Campbell for Oxford. ahead of teammate Russell Winters as the Cougars captured the Ches-Mont National dual meet. Kelvin Cabrera was third for Coatesvill­e at 17:50. BISHOP SHANAHAN 23, AVON GROVE 36 » The Eagles placed six runners in the top 10 as the Eagles posted the ChesMont National victory.

GREAT VALLEY 15, KENNETT 47

» Hayden Coates and Brett Zatlin placed 1-2 for the Patriots (4-1) in the Ches-Mont American win. Gavin Maxwell was the top finisher for the Blue Demons in sixth place.

Girls Cross Country

W.C. HENDERSON 21, DOWNINGTOW­N WEST 39; DOWNINGTOW­N WEST 15, W.C. EAST 50; W.C. HENDERSON 15, W.C. EAST 50» The Warriors captured seven of the top 10 places in the sweep of the Ches-Mont National tri-meet. Courtney Alexandr, Emma Teneza, Lucy Merrill and Katie Bixler was second through fifth. Nina Gallagher was first overall for the Whippets.

UNIONVILLE 20, W.C. RUSTIN 43; W.C. RUSTIN 20, OCTORARA 41; UNIONVILLE 15, OCTORARA 40 » The Indians took the second through fith spots to sweep the Ches-Mont American tri-meet. Sofia Piccone of the Golden Knights took first in 20:32.

OXFORD 15, SUN VALLEY 50

» Christina Jimenez took first overall as the Hornets notched the first four places in the Ches-Mont American victory. Sarah Wilkinson, Liz Estes and Mackenzie Harrison was second through fourth.

COATESVILL­E 26, DOWNINGTOW­N EAST 29 » Leah Moffitt was first as the Red Raiders (2-3) edged the Cougars in the Ches-Mont National meet. Charlotte Roumpz was secons and Allie Squeri third for East. AVON GROVE 27, BISHOP SHANAHAN 32 » Cody Shannan was first for the Eagles and Kelly Ally was third in the Ches-Mont National victory. Sydney Paglia placed second for the Red Devils.

WEST CHESTER RUSTIN 5, PHOENIXVIL­LE 2 » The Golden Knights (11-6) won at second and third singles to win the nonleague contest. CONESTOGA 6, EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 1 » Amy Zhang and Olivia Dodge rallied to win at first doubles as the Pioneers (6-1) completed their regular season with the nonleague victory. The pair was down, 4-1, in the first set, before reeling off five games in a row. They took the second set, 6-2.

» The Red Raiders took all thre singles matches to help the Red Raiders to the ChesMont victory.

Golf

UNIONVILLE 181, OCTORARA 209 » David Starnes and Chris Skean shot 35 each as the Indians (13-0) completed Ches-Mont American play unbeaten. Richie Kline added a 36 and Rourke Dillon had a 37.

Hunter King and Jacob Hershey carded 41s for the Braves (5-7, 7-8).
