Whippets prevail in overtime
Romea Riccardo scored in overtime as Downingtown West edged Notre Dame Academy, 2-1, in a nonleague field hockey game Friday.
Riccardo scored unassisted.
She also assisted on the first goal by Ciana Riccardo in the first half.
Caitlyn Coker registered seven goals.
The Whippets improve to 13-0 overall.

Abby Barth scored in overtime as the Moose (2-1, 7-2) collected the Friends School League victory. Dewi Henry also scored for Westtown.

She finished with 3 saves. Alaina McLaughlin had the game winner 8 minutes into overtime off an assist from Abby Foster.

Adira Nair of Great Valley, Cassidy Landau of Conestoga, Holly Koons of Downingtown West and Hannah Baxter of Henderson all won their first-round matches, but were beaten in the second round.
