Police investigate burglaries, robbery in Coatesville
COATESVILLE » Police responded to the 300 block of East Chestnut Street for a burglary report on Sept. 21. Contact was made with a male victim who told police that he locked his home prior to leaving for work. When he returned home a screen was missing from his window, the door was open, and Desiree Damos was inside. The victim had $1,000 worth of tools and personal items taken.
Damos had left prior to police arrival. At 1:50 a.m. on Sept. 22, police came into contact with a female matching the description provided to police. Damos was taken into police custody where she processed and housed for arraignment. Damos was sent to Chester County Prison after she failed to post bail. During follow-up investigation police were able to recover one of the items stolen from the victim.
Pedestrian Stop
On Oct. 04, at 9:20 p.m. police conducted a pedestrian stop on juveniles at the park at Ninth and Chestnut streets. The juveniles were transported to Coatesville Area High School. Custody was transferred to school administration.
Burglary
On Oct. 4 at 3:49 p.m. Coatesville Police took a report of a theft that occurred in the 100 block Virginia Ave. A 77-year-old man reported that he had $250 in cash, a Movado watch, a gold necklace and a gold ring stolen.
Robbery
On Oct. 4 at 11:52 p.m. police were dispatched to the Gas Stop, 652 E. Lincoln Highway, for a report of a robbery. The victim Brannan Cliff, stated he had given two males a ride to Coatesville from West Chester. Upon arrival in Coatesville, the victim determined that he was missing approximately $100 cash. The victim confronted the two males about the missing cash, at which time one of the males struck the victim in the back of the head one time. The two males also took a cellphone and passport from the victim. Any individuals who may have witnessed this occur or are familiar with two males are asked to contact Coatesville Police. Witnesses can remain anonymous.
