Concert for hurricane relief scheduled Sunday

- Staff Report

WEST CHESTER » A “Compassion Concert for Hurricane Relief” featuring Kategory 5 will be held at the Chester County Historical Society at 6:30 p.m. on Oct.15.

Kategory 5, the WMGK house band and regional classic rock cover band, is partnering with Project 938, a new church in West Chester, to host the benefit concert for the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

“With a name like ‘Kategory 5’, we’ve received several requests for hurricane benefit concerts,” says lead singer Kat Pigliacampi. “We are thrilled to use our name and our music to support a good cause.”

Project 938, a new church starting in West Chester on Super Bowl Sunday Feb. 4, 2018, is putting on the concert.

“One of our key values as a church is to ‘extend compassion,’” says Project 938 Pastor Marc Lucenius. “When the hurricanes hit, we couldn’t think of a better way to extend compassion than to support the thousands of people who lost their homes.”

The concert is on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 6:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Chester County Historical Society. A VIP reception with members of Kategory 5 will be held prior to the concert from 5-6:30 p.m. at Iron Hill Brewery. Tickets for the concert are $20, and the VIP reception is $40, which includes special seating at the concert and the pre-concert appetizer reception. *All the proceeds will go to support Bayou City Relief, a church initiative in Houston working with local and national agencies to meet the needs of homeowners who don’t have the resources to rebuild their homes after the hurricane floods.
