Three locals duos reach quarters at district doubles
Three Chester County teams reached the quarterfinals in the District 1 girls teannis Doubles Championship at Legacy on Friday.
Top-seeded Priya Aravindhan and Olivia Dodge of Conestoga won their lone match of the day after receiving a bye in the first round.
They defeated Elainia Lee and Jacey Caplan of Owen J. Roberts in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 6-0. They will face Dina Nouiame and Tina Prince of Methacton in today’s quarterfinals.
Two local teams will battle each other for a spot in the semifinals.
Adira Nair and Sadie Buzan of Great Valley will face Holly Koons and Lily Shi of Downingtown West.
Nair and Buzan advanced by beating Nicole Dickson and Grace Yatcilla of Downingtown East in the first round, 6-3, 6-0. They followed that by downing Jenny Landells and Samantha Sullivan of Wissahickon in three sets.
