Anyone who’s ever needed guidance and assurance, through some of life’s trickier trials and tribulations, knows just how important getting counseling from trained professionals is to getting well and back on one’s feet.

Though that type of transformation can be difficult and demanding there’s a place in Berwyn that, for the last 47 years, has been at the forefront of providing topnotch, emotional and psychological care to its clients at the Daemion Counseling Center (DCC) located at the corner of Howellville and Conestoga roads.

What’s become unique for DCC in the last five years has been an innovative way to raise sup- ing services. That benefit plemental funding for in- event, named “A Taste of dividuals or families who Berwyn” (ATOB) has for don’t have the means to the last two years been pay for needed counsel- held at the historic and sprawling Hilltop House in Devon after a year on the library’s lawn and an- other at the Johnson Me- morial Park Bridge.

Vendors of food, drink, jewelry, gadgets and information lined the pavement leading up to the front door of the significant house. Musicians strummed their instruments as guests made their way inside the home and out the back doors to a vista of fields, late blooming flowers and activities for kids.

Since the first ATOB and its humble beginnings on a side street in the heart of Berwyn in 2013, the Sunday afternoon party has grown in scope, sponsorships and its alliance with Rotary from the Paoli, Berwyn and Malvern branch.

To further stretch the successes of the last five years of fund raising it’s worthy to note that DCC is making remarkable strides and differences for individuals as well as families that need guidance and direction in sorting out relationships, feelings and the facts that could forever impact lives.
